Which batteries is the HOOTS VOLTAGE approved for?
For all vehicle batteries from 6V, 12V, 24V to 36V. Lead, gel or AGM batteries can be monitored. Li-ION batteries can also be monitored.
How is the HOOTS VOLTAGE installed?
Thanks to quick clamps and a magnetic base, the voltage can be measured immediately and evaluated live via the app or as a history in the cloud.
The voltmeter can remain permanently mounted on stationary vehicles, but is not approved for use on public roads.
Is an additional power supply necessary?
No, HOOTS VOLTAGE is powered by the battery. The current consumption is only 20 mA, so the battery is not discharged.
Which radio connection do I need?
HOOTS VOLTAGE is set up and the live data is displayed via Bluetooth. The stored data is sent to the cloud via WLAN.
Does HOOTS VOLTAGE have reverse polarity protection?
If you swap the negative and positive poles, incorrect measurements will occur.
How does the HOOTS VOLTAGE RESET work?
Place a magnet on the lid or the HOOTS LOGO. The system will restart. Settings and existing cloud data are retained.
Can I read the battery parameters without WiFi?
Yes, via Bluetooth within a radius of approx. 10-15m.
How long can the data be stored?
Depending on the package you book, the data can be saved and evaluated for between 6 hours and 6 months.
Can I also use HOOTS VOLTAGE with a circuit breaker/main switch?
HOOTS VOLTAGE also works with a circuit breaker / main switch. The circuit breaker must be connected after the HOOTS VOLTAGE system. As long as HOOTS VOLTAGE has a direct connection to the
If you have a negative and positive pole of the battery, you can still measure the battery voltage (volts), device temperature and humidity even when the circuit breaker is switched off.
Can I also use HOOTS VOLTAGE with built-in battery terminals or quick clamps?
As long as HOOTS VOLTAGE has a direct connection to the negative and positive poles of the battery, you can continue to
Measure battery voltage (volts), device temperature and humidity.
We recommend using isolating switches/main switches for this purpose.
Can HOOTS VOLTAGE also be connected to the high-voltage network of an electric vehicle?
No, commissioning in the high-voltage electrical system is expressly not possible and will result in damage to the battery monitor and possibly also a defect in the vehicle.
What is the quiescent current of the HOOTS VOLTAGE system?
The battery monitor has one
Monitoring mode with a current consumption of 0.3 mA.
What power consumption occurs when transmitting system data via WLAN / cloud?
The system briefly requires 20 mA to transmit the system data to the cloud or to the WLAN network.
